LowellArts! invites you to submit your application to the Fallasburg Fall Festival for the Arts. The festival is held annually in Fallasburg Park, located approximately 20 miles east of Grand Rapids, MI. Set amid the trees of this picturesque site, the event features 100 unique fine art and fine crafts booths, food booths, and a children's craft area. Timeless craft demonstrations take place inside a large pavilion while musicians perform on an outdoor stage both days. Annual attendance estimates are 20-30,000. Admission is free.
100 artists are selected each year to sell their artworks in a juried competition. Booths include jewelry, pottery, glasswork, leather-tooling, fiber work, woodcarving, painting, sculpture, herbal products and photography, just to name a few. The festival also includes demonstrations of rug hooking, origami, quilting, basketry, woodcarving, caning, rustic wood furniture, and leatherwork, spinning and weaving.
Food and Entertainment
A dozen food booths representing Lowell community nonprofit organizations, offer meals, desserts and snacks to entice diverse palates. Musical entertainment on the outdoor stage continues throughout the festival offering a variety of musical styles including blues, folk and jazz.
Hands-on exhibits and other fun activities are offered for youngsters, including pumpkin decorating, face- painting and a other arts project.
The Fallasburg Fall Festival develops the potential of an extraordinary historical setting. Spanning the Flat River between Fallasburg Park and historic Fallasburg Village is the 125-year old covered bridge, one of the few in Michigan. This unique festival offers the ambiance of fall with decorations of dried flowers, cornhusks, hay bales and pumpkins.
There is no admission to the festival and supervised parking is available for a donation. The festival is also handicap accessible. For the safety of all attendees and participants, no pets are allowed within the festival area.
